Canadian R&B Singer Chosen to Play Aaliyah in Biopic

R&B singer, Keisha Chante, a Canada native has been chosen to play Aaliyah, the rising queen of R&B Hip hop who died a tragic plane crash in 2001, in the film about the singer's life. The movie will chronicle h er childhood, her rise to stardom and her untimely death. Keisha does not dote an extensive acting resume, only having been in a few indie films, but was chosen because of her resemblance to the fallen star.

The film hits theaters in 2009.

Im glad to see they are chosing to feature notable artists in motion pictures. Hopefully we will get to see a lot of the great things/qualities that made Aaliyah such a household name.
