Bernie Mac, Isaac Hayes and S.L Jackson star in "Soul Men" due out in theaters October 10, 2008. Motivation behind this post, B. Mac is my overaged casanova -- and with that said,

I shall move on. The movies official synopsis [per imdb.com] describes the flick:
Though it's been some twenty years since they have spoken with one another, two estranged soul-singing legends (Jackson and Mac) agree to participate in a reunion performance at the Apollo Theater to honor their recently deceased band leader. My fascination over all that is Bernie Mac prevents me from all negative commentary and mindless banter that would normally accompany something like this but, I will say that this is an interesting casting mix. Sources also say that "Both Jackson and Mac will dance and sing, and the film is negotiating for access to the Stax Records catalog." Uhm... Seriously?? Moving on...
Also co-starring in the film is Sharon Leal, who played most recently in T.P's Why Did I Get Married. Looks like it might be at least matinee-worthy but I don't know if I can stomach another 2 hr song and dance laced with mediocre acting.
...Dish your thoughts...
